A golden September wedding at The Brighthouse Farm in Prince Edward County — filled with heartfelt moments, modern-rustic charm, and timeless joy. Effortless elegance meets countryside warmth in this unforgettable celebration.
From the first moment we arrived at The Brighthouse Farm, we knew we were in for something special. Surrounded by rolling meadows, wildflowers dancing in the breeze, and warm September light, our couple — Gabby & Chris — invited us into a weekend of connection, joy and celebration with family and friends. What began as a gathering of loved ones quickly turned into an unforgettable wedding party—elevated yet effortless in every way.
Set in the serene countryside of Prince Edward County near Wellington, The Brighthouse Farm offers a rare blend of natural beauty and refined design. On a sprawling 100-acre estate, you’ll find a restored 1867 farmhouse, intimate garden corners, and a modern barn complete with sailcloth tent options — the perfect canvas for a wedding that feels curated and timeless. What excites us most as destination photographers is its weekend-long possibility: friends and family arrive from across North America, stay in the farmhouse, wander the garden, gather on the porch with coffee, and wake the next morning to a toast in fields of golden light.

Gabby and Chris began the day in the light-filled spaces of the farmhouse—Gabby with her maid of honour and sister, laughing over coffee and delicate wildflower bouquets; Chris with his groomsmen, adjusting a meaningful bow-tie that once belonged to his Opa, fulfilling a special dream of dancing with him in spirit.
We loved how the venue’s natural charm required minimal decor— handwritten notes at place settings, gorgeous wildflower arrangements, and candles coming alive as dusk fell.
One of the most emotional moments of the day was their first look. Chris waited quietly on the wraparound porch of the farmhouse, wind tugging gently at his jacket as he turned to see Gabby step out onto the porch. It was cool and breezy, but they were in their own world — a bubble of emotion that nothing could touch.
They read private vows to each other, tears streaming, laughter breaking through nerves. It was one of those moments that reminds us why we love this work — the quiet honesty between two people before the day unfolds.
Afterward, we took wedding party and family photos around the farmhouse, with laughter echoing between the trees. Then, before the ceremony, everyone gathered inside the farmhouse for a drink — the kind of easy, joy-filled moment that lingers long after the wedding day ends.
Against the backdrop of the field’s tall grasses and turning skies, the ceremony unfolded. Chris and Gabby had chosen a spot that felt open and intimate, surrounded by the people they care about most. Vows were exchanged in soft September light, and the rolling fields of Prince Edward County provided a sense of grounded magic.
This is the kind of moment that makes the venue shine—not just the architecture, but the stillness together and the expansive space for all their friends and family to witness.
With the fields behind us and the modern barn just steps away, we moved into cocktail hour. The synergy between the rustic-elegant barn and the natural field light gave us every kind of frame we love: editorial, emotional, timeless.
We especially loved when we slipped away for a moment with the newly-weds while the guests mingled—capturing private glances in the grasses, the soft sway of wildflowers, and that unmistakable glow of golden hour.
The reception unfolded beautifully. Candles flickered, wildflowers in loose arrangements tied everything together, and the space felt unpretentious yet refined. Then came the brilliant switch: after dinner and just before dessert, Gabby and Chris retreated to the farmhouse for an outfit change. Gabby changed into her second dress, the Rosie Etienne AMELIE, and she and Chris popped a bottle of sparkling, shared a private laugh, and then returned to the party.
With their combined energy, they led the dance floor, honouring both connection and “let’s party.” And because Chris wore his Opa’s bow-tie, when we captured him mid-song on the floor, it felt like generations dancing together in one room.
The Brighthouse Farm isn’t just a venue—it’s a weekend experience. For Gabby & Chris, whose greatest wish was time with their closest friends and family, it delivered. The mix of countryside calm and celebration energy, the flexibility to be outdoors, indoors, formal and fun, and the way the space simply allows personality to shine—these are its greatest strengths.
From the intimate welcome dinner to the hearty brunch the next morning, everyone felt present. Guests who live across North America gathered under one roof, and the countryside backdrop brought a sense of homecoming.
